Cherry blossoms along moats of the Imperial Palace in Tokyo

Japan is now in the middle of cherry blossom's season !!!The front line of the blossoms, heading from south to north, passed through Tokyo in early April.

Following pictures, taken at Chidorigafuchi, showed how they were. People  enjoyed a number of pickish petals leaning over the moat at the northwest part of Imperial Palace.

Some couples spent a pleasant day, viewing them up from rowboats.

The arched branches of cherry trees were combined with the winding moat to give us a spectacular view of the capital.

We share the feeling of early spring with numerous pinkish petals which appear prior to light green leaves of other trees.
People would not be so much impressed with the blossoms If cherry trees don't bloom drastically at the same time.

Do you know why ?
Species of plants have their times of blooming which depend on natural conditions such as air temperature and hours of sunlight. There is, however, another reason for cherry tree's coincidence of making flower buds open.

That is our traditional way of growing the trees from cuttings, by which young trees naturally have the same DNA as that of their parent.  Trees in the next generation also have the same one as long as they are grown with the method. As the result, cheery trees with the same DNA have been spread across the country, and they start to bloom together when natural conditions  are satisfied.
